Better From the Ground Up

Why we love polymer

It's easy to say we specialize in Polymer Resins, but with new products and innovative systems appearing on the scene almost daily, listing them all would be overwhelming. To simplify, we define "resinous" as a superior type of flooring made of resin-based materials like epoxy, urethane, urethane cement, and polyaspartics, and applied to concrete, wood or other rigid substrates.

POLYMER RESIN FLOORS ARE:

• Strong & Durable

• Long-lasting

• Easy Care / Low Maintenance

• Favorable Life Cycle Costs

• Chemical- and Stain-Resistant

• Clean & Sanitary

• Highly Decorative

• Completely Customizable

In our opinion, resinous floors are the ideal solution for every environment that needs to be impeccably clean at all times. Unlike tile and grout, resinous floors have no cracks where dirt and bacteria can hide. They're seamless, moisture tolerant, heat- and impact-resistant, easy to clean, and never need to be waxed.

THESE ARE A FEW OF THE RESINOUS MATERIALS WE WORK WITH:

EPOXY

low VOC • low odor • chemical resistant • strong • smooth or slip resistant • thin coat

Epoxy Resins are a class of natural polymers derived from petroleum and can be clear or tinted. They are one part resin and one part hardener, and tend to "age brittle" or get hard over time, which can be a problem when concrete substrates move and curl due to thermal changes. They are not particularly moisture tolerant or UV stable.

HYBRID SYSTEMS

self-priming • tenacious adhesion • moisture tolerant - smooth or slip resistant

By combining the best materials, like urethane mortar with a polyaspartic topcoat, hybrid floors are can be made highly moisture resistant, impact resistant, stain resistant, wear resistant, seamless, and easily cleaned and disinfected.

URETHANE

high performance • impact resistant • slip resistant • thermal shock resistant • self-priming • moisture tolerant

Urethane has the malleability and flexibility that epoxy lacks, making it more impact resistant than a thin-mill epoxy. They are also UV stable and do not yellow as epoxies do. They're an ideal choice for a topcoat over an epoxy, and can be clear or tinted just as epoxies are.

URETHANE CEMENT

quick curing • incredibly tough • moisture tolerant

Often called Urethane Mortar, Urethane Cement is a relatively new product to the U.S. A mixture of urethane and concrete, it cures quickly—around eight hours—and goes through seven chemical changes over the course of seven days to become one of the toughest flooring products ever seen. It offers extreme moisture tolerance which is important in new construction and in environments like kitchens and garages where floors are regularly exposed to high levels of water.

POLYASPARTICS & POLYUREAS

durable • UV stable • temperature tolerant • quick install

Known for setting fast and their extreme durability, these come in spray, caulk and pour-in-place versions. They are UV stable, have a high range of temperature tolerance, and are popular for quick-install thin mill systems that offer greater durability than epoxy.

WE'RE ALSO COMMITTED TO LEARNING EVERYTHING WE CAN ABOUT THE NEW FLOORING OPTIONS HITTING THE MARKET DAILY

From cork to rubber to prime coat, if there's a better flooring for your job, you can count on us to source it for you.

100% Solids, 99% of the Time

Our floors are in it for the long haul

Many flooring manufacturers use water or solvents as mixing agents of carriers in their epoxies and urethanes. These carriers make the products easier to apply, but they tend to evaporate as the products cure, causing potential shrinkage and a capillary structure vulnerable to moisture and bacteria.

At IPS, we use 100% solids most of the time since there are no VOCs and no water or solvent to evaporate. Solids are harder to work with and require a high level of experience to apply but are uncontestably superior in terms of longevity and durability. They're abrasion resistant, chemical and stain resistant, and, when installed properly, last for decades.

Phenomenal Finishes

Whether solid-color or broadcast, we deliver the look you want.

Not only can most epoxies and urethanes be tinted to any solid color, the finish can also be adjusted from high gloss to matte. We also have the ability to add metallic pigments that create marble effects, colors that shift hues, and stains that can be incorporated in unlimited combinations.

Broadcast finishes include ceramic-coated quartz, color quartz sand, and vinyl flakes which are broadcast into polymers for myriad decorative finishes, including terrazzo.

An Exceptional Value

We're not the cheapest to put in, but we're the most inexpensive over time.

Somewhere in the middle when it comes to installation costs, resinous floors more than pay for themselves over time. With the lowest maintenance costs, the longest lifespan, and the greatest versatility of any of the most frequently chosen floors, polymer resin floors have the lowest total cost after 25 years than any other option.
